It has been a long while since I have posted anything new going on with me... I have continued to work on my drawing and painting signed up for a few more courses to help me get better...

STORE MAKE OVER... Me and my Step Father have been working on rremoving walls and finishing up the make shift add on we did last year.. He has been busy tearing down walls rebuilding counters, putting up new walls, painting etc.. I will be going up in a couple of weeks to start decorating for our reopening in March.. We close down in Jan - Feb... So with that coming I have been busy catching up on making some Annie's.. I sold out last year and don't have many dolls left... I had an order come in for a couple of Annie's so I thought best make 4... so here are the two left still waiting on there hair... I have doll parts everywhere.. Today I am working on the dolls to the left.. this is a sweetmeadows pattern.. I have been so scared to tried these faces.. but I have to say I am happy with how they turned out.. After I get these piles of Annie's done up I need to get a few bunnies done up.. We are getting snow here today.. this winter has been a weird one... We are getting snow to the east and west but not were we need it .. Vancouver needs it for the Olympics.... I can't wait for them to start.. Well that is all that is about new here in my life.. I will be back to chat some more soon.. hopefully will have some new store pictures to show you all.. Thanks for listening to me go on..

Merry Christmas Everyone

This is my favorite time of year... I anxiously await for Halloween to be done so that I can get out my Christmas Goodies.. I start to decorate the house around the 1st week of November.. I use to wait until the first snowfall but we seem to be a little absent of that this year... (praying for some snow for Christmas Morning) .. We use to celebrate Christmas at my Mom's home for many years but that tradition has now been passed down to me.. Today is the day that my Mom and Dad come in with a van full of goodies., some to eat and some to open up... I hardly get any sleep this night.. I am a big kid when it comes to Christmas.. I love to see the excitement on everyones faces... Some goodies I make for my mom and she so loves them and this year I have bought her some goodies from my favorite artist.. I have such a hard time parting with them but I know how much she admires my collection when she comes in for visits.. So thought it time to start to fill her home.. She is like me and keeps almost all goodies out.. All of my handmades she keeps out... I just can't part with my collection so they stay out year round.. This year I have spoiled my Husband and Son... (This year what am I talking about ...lol I do it every year) I always say I am going to cut back but I just don't seem to do that.. Well to finish off our Christmas tradition we get up bright and early on Boxing Day and rush right out for those holiday sales.. I know we are nuts..lol..

Brrrrr It sure is COLD here

Burr.... winter took it's time getting here but I think it is here to stay for a bit now.. We only have a small skiff of snow :( ... we are sitting at -10 C but with the wind it feels like -19 C...

I am all caught up on Christmas Orders and am taking it a little slower now.. Do have my mind in work mode though.. I am seriously thinking of doing one of our local craft shows next year .. it runs 4 days.. so I have been searching and going through my patterns to get stuff ready .. I will have to start now to be ready for that show and our annual fall tour... if anyone has any ideas of great items to make that sell well please post me a note..

Christmas Shopping is all done other then a few stocking goodies.. I need to learn to cut back I say that every year.. but I just can't seem to do that.. I love to spoil my family and myself.. oh well it's only once a year right.. Soft In the Head has a couple of items I really want but just have to find some extra money before they sell..

Frustration with eBay, Canda Post, PayPal

Very frustrated with a customer to start. A lady had purchased my snowman heads on November 8, she paid for standard mail delivery., there was the option for expedited. She contacted me 4 days after item was mailed being very rude telling me her item should be there and that she was very upset that I took her money with no item sent. I emailed her back telling her first that the item was coming from Canada and standard post mail takes any where from 12 - 15 day but can also take up to 4 - 6 weeks according to Canada post if the item gets held up at the borders.... I asked her to give it the 15 days and well she did then she went and throw up a negative feedback on eBay.. I hate that we have no rights as eBay sellers to defend ourselves we are guilty right away. I offered this lady a refund on her purchase before the negative feedback and after the negative feedback.. I heard nothing from her. I have contacted Canada Post as well but they day up to 5 days before they get back to you.. and then I have to wait 90 days before I can get a refund from them... Then I awake this morning to find she has gone through Pay Pal and opened a claim.. I responded to her message and then gave her a full refund.. She told me I shouldn't be so cheap and ship Priority .. They option was given to her it would have cost her 13.95 but she took standard post for 7.50 so were am I being cheap I offered it..

This upsets me so much as many of my customers know I am to please and do everything in my power to help situations as they arise... thank goodness those are far and few between... I have not control when my parcel leaves my hands.. I do make sure that all of my packages are well taped and all names and labels are well covered as well so nothing can get lost or damaged..

I just like everyone who sells on eBay are trying to make money to support there family.. when I list my big items I give all of my customers price breaks on the shipping... an example

Doll price 50.00 for a 23 Inch doll shipping fees (expedited) I charge them anywhere from 12 - 15 dollars actual shipping depending how far into the USA it is from me can vary from 26.00 - 35.00 and I always pay the difference without asking for extra money... so take that off the sale of my doll, plus material, plus eBay and pay pal fees and I really make nothing...

Sorry to rant but I am just so made.. and if this lady get the snowman I will never know..

Calling on all ladies help that have or are going through the change... I believe that I have started it and at 38 that seems so early but I guess not anymore... My cousin thought she was pre menopause but the doctor told her no you are full blown menopause.. I have an appointment next Monday... Is there anything I can do... My mood swings are the worst of it all.. I can handle the hot flashes but not the mood swings... I can remember when I was pregnant with my son it was the hottest summer ever and being prego through it was the worst.. I was working at the time in a restaurant serving food and I swear the air was not on but it was.. My husband would turn the AC up before I got home so that it would be icy cold.. and it was he froze.. and now with the hot flashes he is freezing again with the heat down... lol.. The joy of being a woman...

Christmas Decoration

Here is my tree... it has many more presents under it now... all ready for the holiday season..

Starting to put out my Christmas decorations has me thinking back to when I first moved out.. I had nothing borrowed a table for the kitchen and was given a couch for the living room but it did not fit because of the apartment I was renting was the top level of a house.. so all we had was a bed and a kitchen table not that it mattered I was not much of a cook when I first moved out...lol.. Now I have so much stuff I have to pack some goodies away so that I can fit out all my Christmas goodies.. As many of you know I am a collector of others hand mades and I have quite a few... My home is starting to look like our Primitives Shop... I can remember when I did not have a lot of furniture that matched and what not but over the last 20 years since I first moved out I have made my home a quaint little primitive home.. I keep adding as the years go by.. I know the day is not far away from when my son will be leaving home to start his own adventures.. I will help him like I was helped when I moved out, give him our old furniture and what nots.. I can't believe were I am from were I was...lol... Time sure does fly by... So on I go putting up my Christmas decorations and sing jingle bells over and over.. lol.. I am a Christmas nut.. I have more space to fill since we have added some new primitives pieces to our home.. So I told hubby I need to buy some more creative pieces from my long inspiring artist..

The Show is Over

I made it.. lol.. The show was a success... a little slower on Sunday but still had a great turn out... I love to watch my repeat buyers come in and find there goodies... one of my favorite customers is a young lady that bounces as she comes in the store... She knew right what she was looking for when she came in this year.. then changed her mind and purchase BOO cat (soft in the head pattern) and a snowman head on candle Stick (Back Porch Pickins Pattern).. I had the honer of going to another customers home on the way back home.. I got to see all my goodies on display... That was so neat.. I am now back home busy getting my home back in shape..

I am also very happy to announce that I will be on Simply Primitives with all my gal pals.. I am so honored to be on there..

Had to Higher Some Help

As many of you know I am getting ready for our yearly fall show.. I have been sewing and cutting and stuffing like mad.. I now have three weeks and I know that seems like a lot but it really isn't.. I wish we had 36 hour days.. Anyways my son is always in need of money so I decided to offer him min. wage to work for me.. Today was his first day, I thought for sure he would give up but he put in a sold 5 1/2 hours @ 8.90 an hour.. so of course we had to go out and spend his earnings.. lol.. He has plans to work with me tomorrow and a couple hours a night during the week.. stuffing is a little tricky for him but he turns my stuff out, and gets them started with stuffing.. I stuffed all day with him.. we have lots done .... I will post pictures of new things done soon..

Time to hit the hay ..

Early Mornings

6AM.... and my day begins... these early mornings are killer on me.. My son started high school this September.. School hours start at 8:15 so he has to leave to catch the bus at 7:30... my son is not a get and go kinda boy... my hubby gets up at 5AM to leave for work at 6AM when I get up... After I get showered I wake my son up.. I get a 5 min shower while he takes forever.. While he is in the shower I am making him his breakfast fruit smoothie and rye toast... After breakfast I get to style his hair.. he is my little Zack Efron.. he has the same hair style so that takes some gel and lots of blow drying.. I know I must be nuts.. but it is high school.. lol.. then I make his lunch and send him packing... Now it is 7:30 AM and my day begins... It is hard to get started on my dolls this early so I usually finish my fruit smoothie and have some toast and start work about 9AM... when 3 roles around I am beat.. almost need to have a nap but my son is home then so I have to make sure he is getting started on his homework... then it is time to prep supper.. this is when I wish that I had a chef as I am not in the mood to cook and while I am getting ready for this fall show I definitely don't want to cook.. I like it to be fast and easy supers but that is hard now when we are eating healthy.. Me and my son started eating better in May and have stuck with it and both of us have dropped 20lbs each.. YEAH!!!! we both feel so much better... Today we are off to the dentist for our cleaning, I don't mind cleaning... Well I should be off and start my day.. many things to do.. and not much time left to do them in.. just wanted to touch base to let you know I am around... PAM teach me how to get my pets to work for me ( Pam of Soft In the Head)...
